Topsham Community Association (TCA) exists to improve community life for all Topsham residents. This includes holding the lease to run two popular community venues, Matthews Hall and Dorothy Holman Centre. Established in the 1960s, the TCA has two original aims: to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Topsham and to establish and maintain a community centre.
TCA is both a charity and a company limited by guarantee. The directors are volunteers elected at the annual general meeting. We hold the lease on Matthews Hall (and the surrounding land) and run it as a community centre for the benefit of residents.
It is funded through charging for venue hire, customers attending events, the onsite cafe and local and national charitable grants. Any profits achieved are reinvested in the business.
